hey all im new to cybershack but umm well i saw the cyberbid thingy on tv and decided to try my luck and i sent a text for 101 to the cybershack number and then thye replied to me saying: Your bid $1.01 is not unique. TIP: Current winning bid is between $2.00 and $4.00. reply wih your bid in cents 2 bid again!
What does that mean??? im confused...

Cyberbid is the LOWEST bid to win

In other words, if you bid the lowest amount of money, you win.

When it says its not unique it means that someone has already said that amount of money and it is no longer able to be used.

does that make sense?

This means that at the moment that you sent your bid, the lowest bid (in cents) that noone else had bid was between $2 and $4. They won't tell you the exact amount, because that would be too easy and you could just bid the same amount and cancel it out. It also means that someone (actually, at least two people) has already bid your 101 amount... and it was not a unique bid.

This DOES NOT MEAN that every amount below $2 has been taken. For instance, $1.02 might not have been bid on by anyone at all. If you bid this amount, you will be the current winning bidder, and whoever else SMSes a bid and receives a message like you just did it would say "TIP: Current winning bid is between $0.00 and $2.00" I would imagine. So basically what it is saying is, the lowest unique bid currently resides between $2 and $4, but this may change before next Monday.

The concept of the lowest unique bid auctions seems to be a little challenging for many of Cybershack's competition entrants. I wonder if there's a better format for the next season's competitions? I know it's a wicked revenue raiser, but surely there's a better way!?!!?

Are those quiz things where you get SMSed the next question if you get the last one right still annoying, or are people good with those now?
