Fair enough, I was at the Eureka Caravan park. Man that place is like $20-$30 cheeper than anywhere else up there!
Edit- What happened to the pub near the lake saturday morning? Me and my GF saw the fire trucks there, and a cop car blocking the road.
Man flees house blaze
GAINING ENTRY: Firefighters gain access to the fire via the roof of the Wendouree Pde house on Saturday afternoon.
A LAKE WENDOUREE man had a lucky escape on Saturday when he awoke to find the front of his house on fire.
Lakeview Hotel owner Michael Cook escaped the Wendouree Pde house and called the fire brigade about 1.45pm.
Paramedics treated Mr Cook for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Ballarat City Fire Officer John Radford said Mr Cook was the only person in the house.
"Firefighters entered the building to do an initial search and they found that the owner of the property had actually left the property and called the fire brigade," Mr Radford said.
"At the moment he's being treated by ambulance for smoke inhalation. He's been able to get himself out with some personal belongings so they're just doing some precautionary work on him just to make sure he's okay.
Two appliances from Ballarat City and one from Ballarat attended the fire, which took about 20 minutes to bring under control.
Police also attended the scene.
Mr Radford said damage was mostly confined to the front of the house.
"The front room was fully involved. The hallway as well as an adjacent room has had some smoke damage, as well as some heat damage," he said.
Mr Radford said the blaze was believed to have started near a fireplace, but fire investigators would make an inspection of the scene to confirm the cause.
The house had been used "partly as a residence and partly as a storage facility".
After firefighters had brought the blaze under control, friends of Mr Cook removed two budgies in a cage from the home.
Meanwhile, Ballarat City Fire brigade was called to a house fire in Winderemere St South on Saturday night.
The blaze was thought to have started in a heater before spreading to the roof.
It was because of a house fire.
