Well have finally brought the stereo that I have been drooling over ever since I first saw it (well not the exact one I got the newer model with more power

) It is the Sony MUTEKI - HTIB (STRK1600 & SSCRP1600) HTDDW1600 6.2 (upgradeable to 6.4

) home theatre system.
It is freaking huge (it came in two box's, that combined weighed 80kg's, that more than I weigh

) I got this monster from JB HI-FI for $980 (their catalogue had it at crossed out at $1191 saying ask for a deal, I knew this could be had off the net for less than a grand delivered to my door so I offered them $950 which the sales man replied was bellow what they could do at $985 to which I replied I could get it to my door for around $980 and the deal was done). I was then upsold with an extra 2yrs of warranty for $99 which I took (maybe pointless but I thought I might as well). Getting this thing home was very fortunate that my old man had taken his Chrysler Grand Voyager (a people mover for those who don't know) with the back seats taken out as he uses it as a work van. The two box's fitted in the back with no room to spare (they just slid in there like they were made for that space, freaky 0_0).
After getting it home then came the fun part of unpacking it and assembly. I took a few pic and here they are.
The two box's, that a 30cm ruler hanging from it and a 1125ml bottle of Jim Beam down the bottom for size comparison.

The front of the receiver

The rear of the receiver

The two front speakers with ruler

The center and surround speakers (not the extra space/slot between the speakers I'm guessing a future 7.2 system is likely to be released)

All the surrounds and center out

One of the sub's

That's all I have for the moment. So far I have only installed the two subs, centre and the left and right fronts as space is limited for such a big system in my room. Once I remove my old stereo I should have enough room for two of the surrounds on the desk and when I get my new
LCD TV/Monitor and a KVM I will be able to get rid of the second desk in my room and move things around a bit. Ill take a photo once everything is in its final or close enough to place.
